Meet Matt Baggett
Matt’s primary focus in representing injured clients is helping them overcome the obstacles and challenges presented by corporations and insurance companies. His background and experience gives him a unique perspective into the mindset of insurance companies and large corporate defendants. Matt began his practice working as defense counsel for Fortune 500 companies at two of the largest and most prestigious firms in Northeast Florida. Knowing the other side’s game plan, Matt understands how to effectively handle a claim from the start so that his clients receive maximum compensation for their injuries.
Matt’s courtroom successes and the significant settlements he has obtained on behalf of his clients have earned him a number of accolades, including an AV Preeminent rating by Martindale-Hubbell and recognition as a Rising Star by Super Lawyers Magazine every year since 2009.
Matt was born in Jacksonville, Florida, but he spent most of his childhood in Illinois and California. A lifetime Florida Gators fan, he returned to Florida in 1999 to attend the University of Florida, where he earned a degree in political science. Matt then went on to obtain his law degree from Florida State University in 2005. His natural trial skills were recognized early on in law school, earning him first place in the 2003 Wayne Hogan Trial Competition.
Matt is involved in a number of community programs and non-profit organizations. He was a founding member of Guys With Ties, an organization of professional men focused on raising money for local charities. Matt and his family also support a number of charitable and philanthropic organizations, including the Ronald McDonald House Charities, Wounded Warrior Project, Wolfson Children’s Hospital and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Matt and his wife, Amanda, have three children, including a set of twins. As a family, they enjoy traveling, watching football and exploring the area’s beaches and parks.
